The home page of the annual Ball for Life now includes photos from the event last May 11, where I met the legendary actress Celeste Holm. You can see that when I wrote earlier about meeting her, I wasn't exaggerating when I said she's still glamorous at 90.
As I wrote before, because I was introduced to her as an author, I told the star about my book, saying it was intended for single women who had not been chaste — to show them how they could change their lives.
The three-times divorced, once-widowed Mrs. Holm, who is currently married to her fifth husband, looked at me with an expression of bewilderment, mixed with a hint of distaste. She paused a moment and asked simply: "Why would they want to do that?"
