I'm excited to share with you my new Substack newsletter Matters Twomey, in which I'll provide subscribers with sneak previews of the research I'm doing for my next book, a biography of labor priest and civil-rights pioneer Father Louis J. Twomey, SJ (1905–1969). Thus far, I've posted a welcome post on why Matters Twomey matters to me, and a research post on the night Father Twomey gave the Baton Rouge Knights of Columbus an earful about the evil of white supremacy.
If you like what you see on Matters Twomey, please subscribe. Your support will encourage me as I move forward with the project. On that note, I was delighted to receive a lovely endorsement, below, from my very first paid subscriber, a priest of the Diocese of Baton Rouge—not far from where Father Twomey lived and worked at Loyola University New Orleans.
